From Student to Leader
Antonios Fytopoulos was born in Greece on the 10th of February 1985. He graduated from the Hellenic Army Academy (Evelpidon) in 2006 (summa cum laude) as an officer and pursued a military career with a specialization in logistics and fuels. Currently, he holds the rank of Major and he has been awarded all decorations, commendations and medals provided for his rank. In 2013, he was awarded a scholarship by the Hellenic Ministry of National Defense and in 2017 he received his bachelor and Master degree from the School of Chemical Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens, where he graduated summa cum laude. In 2017 he joined KU Leuven and NTUA as a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Chemical Engineering, under the supervision of Prof. Georgios Stefanidis, Prof. Andreas Boudouvis and Prof. Tom Van Gerven. His Ph.D. project focused on population balancebased optimization of deracemization processes. From 2018 to 2022, he was the director of the Analytical Lab of the 2nd Army Aviation Group (Megara - Attiki) and the national operator of the Spectrometric Oil Analysis Program for CH-47 D Chinook helicopters of the Hellenic Army Aviation. Since 2022 he has been working at the Supply and Transportation Directorate of Hellenic Army General Staff. Antonios Fytopoulos is married and has two daughters.
